Leading technology project as a member of the non-profit board for the development of a full stack mobile application that provisions grocery cards for people in need.

The front end code was written in flutter and the backend code in python. Firebase is used for persistent storage. Evaluated AWS for the API’s but used Heroku. Full code for this project are on GIT. Project documentation is available for the requirements, technical architecture, and API’s.

I worked very closely with the non-profit staff to create the templates for the 2021 International Juried Exhibition Gallery using the WooCommerce product suite. Also responsible for the creation of Art Ala Cart fund raiser using a Word Press calendar plugin. Maintaining the site with updated tools.
Leading technology projects for non-profit as a volunteer while working with executive team/directors. They had just started and had little funding. Made significant changes to exiting web site and transitioned to a new web site. Made recommendations that were accepted for overall IT infrastructure. Developed a mobile application prototype.
Led a team in building an automated test platform that was used test the Vistaprint web site. Vistaprint employed thousands of developers and released a new version of the web site every two weeks. The platform was designed to handle new test cases and to handle thousands of regression tests.

Executive and Individual positions (25 years)

  • Directly responsible for Image Stream Medical’s (3 years) design, development, implementation, and maintenance of a new flagship product for video streaming, recording, and editing in an operating room environment.  Worked cross-functionally with the development team, CTO, manufacturing department, support team to define and develop the product and successfully managed the first new product installation in 16 operating rooms at Mercy Hospital for $4M in revenue.
  • Accountable for applications development of Iron Mountain’s (3 years) digital archive product which required significant interaction with a cross-functional group including product management, security, usability, and executive teams.  I was responsible for applications development and QA teams with sizes of between 10 and 30 people. 
    • Created the vision and subsequent delivery of Iron Mountain’s Storage as a Service (SaaS) offerings based on a Services Oriented Architecture (SOA). Several brand-name companies used this service to secure thousands of electronic assets.
    • Developed a virtual archive system designed to store millions of files in the Iron Mountain cloud. 
  • Avaya (3 years) purchased Spectel (headquartered in Dublin), a provider of voice and data conferencing systems, to expand its product portfolio. Responsible for the development and support of the product as product revenues increased over 30% per year during a downturn in the telecommunications market. Led a growing systems development team of over thirty application and embedded software, hardware, and QA engineers in the development of a carrier class telephony conferencing system ($2.5M budget). Successfully managed aggressive delivery deadlines within budget using offshore resources.
